Johnny Depp – Amber Heard case FINAL VERDICT: Depp WINS the case, Jury announces unanimous decision giving him $15m in compensation | English Movie News

As people around the world wait for the jury to announce their verdict on the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard case, some on the internet have begun campaigning for the actress to be removed as a women’s rights ambassador for American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
Following the many things that came to light during the case, the creator of the change.com petition claimed that the actress was “not deserving of the role as ambassador” while alleging that she was the ‘abuser’.

In the post, the creator of the post also claimed that ‘the ACLU extended a role of Ambassador of Women’s Rights specific to gender based violence to Amber Heard despite the fact that Amber Heard herself had been previously charged with domestic violence against a woman.’

This was in reference to the 2009 case that resurfaced during the trial. The Port of Seattle Police arrested Amber Heard after she and her girlfriend, Tasya van Ree, got into an argument at an airport.

Heard was taken into custody and booked for a misdemeanour of domestic violence after she allegedly struck Ree at the Seattle-Tacoma International airport.
